Raven Original Document Scanner Unboxing and Review

Document scanners are very useful tools that can greatly improve the productivity of people or businesses. They’re useful because they allow you to quickly scan, digitize, and send documents. The Raven Scanner has really streamlined this seemingly complicated process, while also being a really refined-looking scanner. See my recent unboxing video where I got the chance to try out the Raven Original Scanner. But, in the grand scheme of things, what makes the Raven Scanner so good?

No Computer Needed

A standout feature of the Raven Document Scanner that truly makes it a breeze to use is its independence from computers. In fact, you don’t even need to own a computer to work with the Raven Scanner. Normal things like setting the scanner up for first use, software updates, sending scans, and selecting destinations are all easily done on the scanner’s responsive and generous touch screen, but more about that later. This also eliminated any worries I had about finding a scanner that would work with my Mac since it didn’t matter (something I found impossible with the ScanSnap iX500). I really like how you can make adjustments to scanned pages like cropping and rotating them, renaming files, or selecting multiple destinations to send the files all on the scanner.

Features

Aside from the obvious scanning functionality, which operates excellently, a standout feature of the Raven Document Scanner is the considerable 7” touchscreen. I know everything has touchscreens now, but I was still surprised by the quality, smoothness, and responsiveness of it. Putting this large of a touchscreen on a document scanner makes it feel much more modern and usable than other scanners I’ve handled. Another notable feature of the Raven Scanner is that it can send documents to over 10 different destinations at once, including multiple cloud services, email, and fax. Each Raven Scanner also includes unlimited free storage in the Raven Cloud, which is a nice touch.

A Reliable Review for the Raven Scanner

Should You Buy the Raven Scanner?

If you’re in need of a quality document scanner to scan and digitize your documents, it’s hard to not recommend the Raven Document Scanner over even the most well-known scanners from brands like Fujitsu. It’s shockingly simple to set up and use, performs its core functions well, and offers numerous features that the competition lacks.

If you decide to buy, they currently sell on their website (www.raven.com) and on Amazon.
